my life in lists #9: current observations

- addicted to my fisheye flat peephole!

1. life is pretty awesome
2. men will try to dance with you until you point out your boyfriend. don't feel bad for them!
3. the disco room will always be the best bet - even if it means you have to dance alone
4. if you can't style it, get it refunded! bye bye high waisted shorts
5. charm really is dead
6. the 'no swearing' rule within the international drinking rules will end up making you consume a lot of alcohol
7. it's shit living near beeping traffic lights
8. people watching is a free educational past time to enjoy and not be ashamed of
9. sausages for lunch will always hit the spot
10. even though you feel you need to, don't tell buskers where they're going wrong
11. the amnesty international man doesn't want to help you find the postbox
12. 24 hours without Internet feels like torture these days
13. my family will never grasp how to have a nice normal skype conversation
14. wherever you go, there's always some z-list celeb to gawp at - michael collings from BGT, ahoy!
15. simply owning a vagina will let you off such things as the beer bong and monkey chug
16. you will sit through a whole load of shit films in your lifetime. don't let it get you down!
17. sorting out your itunes library isn't the sort of productivity you're after
18. living with a boy isn't that bad...once you get past the toilet issues, trips to GAME and xbox time.
19. never spill your drink...drinking out of a sweaty shoe really isn't worth it
20. never use your knowledge of Westlife lyrics to impress people

It's that time of the year where the hours zoom past without warning and the teabags start declining rapidly due to my incurable need for a nice mug of tea. I'm happy as that Larry bloke people talk about right now. The flat feels like home and I think I've already made new mates. I had my first night out last night which was eventful. I will always fail at Ring of Fire and I will always find myself drawn to the disco room despite the fact all my mates consider themselves way too cool for that! I think all this change is exactly what I've been needing. I feel me again. I feel like making a song and dance out of everything (:

I hope you've enjoyed my little list today. I thought it was the best way of catching you up on things that've been happening to me lately/things I've been thinking about! My best friend, Nibs, is down tomorrow so we are gunna have a bit of fun before gracing a house party for beer pong and frivolity. I'm feeling on top of the world. I'll see you Sunday for another Snap Happy - although, at the moment, the majority of the photos on my camera are of Luke's rather badly stubbed toe!

h is for happy {w49}: things that make me happy

This is a scheduled post because I'm currently enduring a car journey with my mother and her interesting radio station preference aka Sad FM. Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last post! I read through them all and found them extremely comforting. Today is all about moving in, buying food, shooting zombies, buying cushions and having a film night with my man friend! I'm pretty darn excited for it. We really want to make the flat a 'home' so we'll no doubt be filling it with quirky items/anything superhero related. Yes, we have mature taste. Mamabear is piling us off with a huuuuge swag bag of snacks because she knows that I can't be truly happy without a stash of Pringles and some Jammie Dodgers in my belly. I'm high maintenance, shoot me! Here's your weekly dose of happy:

h is for happy {w47}: things that make me happy

I'm a terrible blogger, I know. On the other hand, I'm winning at life at the moment! Winning means getting tiddly, smashing up your 'good' knee and waking up hurting in places you never knew you could hurt, right!? I attended my first hen night over the weekend and was amazed at what goes on during such events. If I ever get married, I just want a quiet night in with a bottle of vodka and a handshake for bagging a man that willingly wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

I had a lovely week last week full of quality sibling time, film nights and noodle dishes. I've come back down to reality recently and realised just how many weeks it is until I'm moving out! I'm not overly upset yet but I know this time in a couple of weeks I'll be caressing the bath and reminiscing about all the good times we've had together. Ah, all those cosy winter nights immersed underneath it's bubbly goodness. I'm hoping to change things around with the blog soon so keep your beady eyes peeled. Until then, here's a few more things that make me happy:

h is for happy {w46}: things that make me happy

Writing this post was just what I needed after a productive morning of being angry at things. It really annoys me when people are careless so I've been scowling at the staff of my local bank for messing up my new account. I'm feeling a little more at peace now! For those of you that are interested, Lyzi and I are already organising the next blogger meet up and it's scheduled for December. If we can get it all organised quickly we'll have a killer venue and the perfect party night for us and our blogger friends to let our hair down and flaunt our Christmas party dresses. Does that take your fancy?! We'll be looking into cheap hotels and transport etc in hope that some of you further north can come and be a part of it. It promises to be awesome! Would people be able to make a weekday if they booked the time off now? We are frantically checking dates.

In other news, I'm also going to be getting a blog sale going this week because the thought of living off a pound for another month actually makes me want to cry. There'll be some nice affordable stuff for you all to take a peek at. I've got to dash back to Luke's now for more film marathons but I hope you all have a lovely rest of the day! Do you agree with my picks?

my life in lists #7: things i would like in my life right this second

This is a cheeky little scheduled post because as you read this I'm rubbing shoulders with some of the South West's blogging finest! I'm a lucky lady, indeed. It almost didn't go ahead because of the pathetic rioters that have been gracing our news screens lately. I'm disgusted by their behaviour and I hope they all suffer the consequences of their ill-judged actions. I don't know why people can't have a bit of decorum and respect. I also don't know why they can't have a bit of taste - Sports Direct?! Oh dear. Thankfully, it seems the country is slowly returning back to its former riot-free state.

In cheerier news, my mate Hugh has decided to set up a River Cottage canteen in Plymouth - my future hometown! You have no idea how many fan girl squeals I made when I read such glorious news. Yeah, I'm middle aged. I'm a Fearnely-Whittingstall fanatic and I don't care who knows it! I'm hoping Lyzi and my best friend Ebony will be able to make the opening day and catch a glimpse of the beaut with me. I'm going to be holding a little blog sale over here at Little V within the next few days so keep your eyes peeled for bargains. I desperately need some dollar for uni so I'm hoping it'll be fruitful! Here's a few things that I'd quite like that I jotted down in my notebook recently:

h is for happy {w45}: things that make me happy

Vivatramp is now a self-proclaimed 'lifestyle blog with a smile' and what a better way to illustrate that fact than with another of my posts on how to be happy! Readers often tell me that they swoop by little V every Monday for their weekly dose of happiness and that's extremely humbling. It's amazing to know that this list helps others as well as myself. For thirty minutes or so a week I can let my mind wander and think of the nicer, and more often than not, simpler things in life and that's a habit that I never want to tire of. I'd love to find out what makes my readers happy so if you've got a little list please pop it in the comments box!

In other news, Luke is back from his brother's stag do today; it'll be interesting to see whether he comes back in one piece or not! (edit - he has!) I'm off to go and prance about in a Breton stripe and sort out university dribble. Why not look through the 'H is for Happy' series here

my life in lists #6: things i could win medals for (things i'm good at)

(hai camera smudge above my eye)

I've got that Friday feeling! Last night was unbelievably strange. You know when you find yourself on a really spontaneous trip out with your friends and you basically end up having the weirdest time?! Yeah, that. We bought wine and scrounged lifts off boy racer types to get a much needed MaccyD's. I'm upper class. I found a note in my bag written on a serviette that says: NOTE TO SELF! Form tribute band to ACDC about various Obsessive Compulsive Disorders called 'OCDC'. I've gotta hand it to myself, I'm a witty drunk with fierce aspirations. Luke's venturing off down south for his brother's stag do this weekend so I'm home alone and planning chaos! He's turning his phone off for the weekend so my drunken 'I LUFF YOO SO MUCH BBZ' texts will go unread til he comes home nursing a terrible head.

I'm having one of those really-can't-be-bothered days today. So much so that I'm currently wearing a top and pants around the house. Count yourselves lucky that I'm not a fashion blogger! Just seven days to go before I'm chilling out with some of the loveliest ladies in the country! I am so so excited. Typically, I'm stressing over what to wear :/ Anyway, I'm gunna go chill out with my book in the sun! I'll be back on Sunday with a pictoral run down of my week. Keep smiling!

1. locking myself in and out of places
2. publically embarassing myself through the medium of dance
3. my music quiz knowledge
4. insane double jointed arms
5. eating my weight in various foods
6. song writing
7. ability to know all the lonely island lyrics off by heart
8. spending days watching cookery shows
9. googling everything under the sun through the early hours of the morning
10. being the weepy girl at the party
11. unbelievable wit (ha!)
12. finding nothing to wear in my full wardrobe daily
13. reading a book a day
14. making poor decisions for myself
15. quoting films in awkward moments
16. dancing in the mirror when everyone is out
17. crying my eyes out at sob stories
18. being horrendously clumsy
19. dodgy facial expressions in photographs
20. talking too much when under pressure (the #swbloggermeet girls will vouch for that!)

h is for happy week 45: things that make me happy

August 1st?! I'm not appreciating how time seems to be slipping through my fingers of late! I'm definitely going to write up a master plan later today of things I wish to get done so that I don't find myself continually wondering where the time has gone! I didn't post yesterday as I was horrendously tired and slightly hungover. I woke up smelling like vodka, shame and the 3am portion of chips. Classy. I'm really horrendously inspired at the moment. I just want to take my life in a new direction and I'm trying to work out how. Anyway, enough of my shit! Here's a selection of even more things that make me happy.

A small but extremely topical list for you today! I've spent the whole of my day photographing things, editing things and listing things for Ebay and its got to the point where I'm verging on insanity. With this in mind, I thought I'd give you guys a little insight into the things I'd rather have to endure than the tedium of the Ebay listing process. Yes, some are extreme but I genuinely don't want to ever have to list anything EVER AGAIN the way I feel right now! Oh, white girl problems! If you'd like to be the best person in the world you can check out the clothes that have taken me all day to list HERE. Thank you! h is for happy week 44: things that make me happy

It's amazing when you think about just how many things in this world that can put a smile on your face and amend terrible days/broken hearts. I've listed 215 things so far and I'm far from struggling for ideas. I can't preach enough just how heartwarming it is to write a list like this; I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! My head is full of little improvements I wish to make with regards to myself and my future. I'm definitely going to spend this week journalling each of these thoughts and drawing up plans! Does anyone else do any life plans like that? Maybe I'm just a tad odd :/ Quick reminder: If you're interested in the South West Blogger Meet please could you email me if you haven't already done so: rebeccaalicestevenson@googlemail.com

•

British summertime is, quite frankly, a bit of a half-hearted joke. Having said that, I'm quite enjoying the faux winter atmosphere. Cups of tea, solemn playlists and heavy duvets work wonders for the heart. I also think that there's nothing better than listening to the heavy rain from the comfort of indoors. Some people struggle to keep themselves busy when restricted by the weather but for some reason it just seems to inspire me further. With this in mind, I thought I'd dedicate this week's list to my favourite things to do on a rainy day. I hope you enjoy! What sort of things do you like to do when the rain hits? Naked sprinting, perhaps?!

I'm not entirely sure what today holds for me as of yet but I can pretty much guarantee it'll involve reading my book and drinking hot drinks. I had a nice catch up with my best friends today which ended up with us taking naps on the display beds in the local department store. I came home to find my mother as pissed as a fart bouncing around on my stepdad's new space hopper. She managed to hop her way into an ant's nest, fall over and graze her arm. From the amount of moaning she did you'd have thought she'd have broken a few limbs. I have video evidence of her antics that I am now using to blackmail my mother with. Ha, evil genius! I'm off to go and relax and do some serious planning. Enjoy!

my life in lists #3: things that remind me of childhood

rocking polka dots extremely well / south west coast beats / secret garden / yeah, bitches. i had a motherfucking plane!

It wasn't the easiest of times for myself and my family but I do look back on my childhood with warmth and a great sense of happiness. I wasn't a very demanding child at all. If you gave me a sand pit and a song to sing I'd be eternally grateful. The only thing I really demanded was that my Mother watch the same old shows with me every waking hour of the day. I can't thank her enough for sitting through the billionth sitting of Watch with Mother and various other shows of the same ilk. Childhood also reminds me of how amazing my grandparents are. It saddens me that my Grandad and Grandpa aren't here anymore to see just how much has changed and how much I wish to make them proud because they gave me some of the best times of my life. There are a billion things that fill me with childhood nostalgia but I thought I'd just stick to the first twenty things that came to mind. Growing up and being serious about things is one of the scariest things to deal with so I'm so grateful that within seconds I can think back to a much more carefree/less stressful time. To some extent, I was a very lucky child indeed. I'm off to go do a last minute shop for holiday goods! What reminds you of your childhood?

1. going bat shit crazy and running around screaming 'SHEPPY PIE' whenever we had it for dinner
2. performing spice girl songs (complete with official dance routines) in the playground
3. gingham dresses
4. believing everything i was told
5. standing up on stage in front of the whole village and revealing my knickers to them all
6. sand pit fun
7. sticker earrings
8. mother's diedre from corrie glasses and horrendous perm
9. daisy print shoes from clarks
10. picking apples from the orchard with grandad
11. reciting the italian 1-10 over breakfast everyday
12. treating gel pen swaps like it was drug dealing
13. shouting 'UMMM IM TELLING MISS' when shit was about to go down
14. disinfectant tasting recorders in recorder class. bleugh!
15. country dancing               don't judge me
16. demanding that i watch mary poppins and the aristocats on a daily basis
17. wearing grandma's jumpers for comfort
18. falling asleep to the same old stories but loving them all the same
19. time with grandparents - the best times ever
20. beautiful carefree natures

h is for happy week 43: things that make me happy

Hello ladies and gents, welcome to the 43rd (really?!) installment of my 'H is for Happy' series. I've been an extremely lucky birthday girl and currently have a billion reasons to be happy! I'll blog about all that on Wednesday but if you can't wait to have it confirmed...the baboons reached my expectations within 10 seconds of intense viewing. I had such a lovely day and threw as many birthday diva strops as I could! I ordered the wrong takeaway dish and literally reacted like I was about to punch a wall. Alas, today is just another day so I am back to my normal idiotic behaviour. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Did anyone else notice that yesterday's scheduled post went up completely unfinished? Woopsie! Today has been a complete scorcher! I ran my errands up town looking like a complete hot mess and then retired to the comfort of my leather sofa which incidentally I became stuck to. Sexy ;) This time next week I'll be sunning myself on a Greek island wandering why I over packed and why I'm not living out my days like it's one big holiday everyday! I've been compiling all my guest holiday posts today so it's safe to say I'm beyond excited. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and come back with a big update post on Wednesday! P.S I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday. Should I go for a blondey honey/LA coloured version of some sort of long bob or stick with THIS or just have long hair in either colour?! HELP ME!

This list was extremely therapeutic to write; it's nice to think of all the things around you and how they're affecting your life/inspiring your way of thinking. Summer itself is a season that heavily inspires me. I'm a July baby so my loyalties lie with the sun and the frivolity that it brings. I'm so ready for my holiday right now. As terrible as it sounds, I can't wait to run away from reality for a week of relaxation in my polka dot shorts. If I close my eyes real good I can smell the Stifado cooking and feel the sunshine on my skin. I'm also pretty excited for my birthday right now. I've made no plans whatsoever so far so I should probably sort that! I have, however, made quite a lovely wishlist. Luke is the only person buying me presents this year so he fucking better get me some nice ones. I'm kidding....but seriously. What sort of things are inspiring you at the moment? Before I forget...I've got a little announcement:

The next South West Blogger Meet is going to take place in the city of Bristol on August 12th! This is more than likely the definitive date so if you need to book things off and look at trains, do so now! The details are still in the early stages at the moment so your ideas are extremely welcome. Would you prefer just a day/evening meet or would you like a good old Blogger knees up too? We are open to your ideas. To register your interest please email me AND Lyzi (:

my life in lists #1: If I had a £ every time I...

Dear lord, I'm having one of those days! I'm afraid there's no 'Live Fast Die Fun' post this week because everything keeps bloody going wrong. I've always been horrendously clumsy. I get myself in a muddle, like old ladies do, and fall over every object imaginable. Last night my camera decided to sneakily show me my photos once and then decided I didn't deserve to see them again and now won't let me view them at all. What's up with that?! Then this morning I found myself locked in the house for the second time in a week leading me to climb out the back of the house and through the garage to my driving lesson. I then stalled twice whilst driving (but kicked the shit out of bay parking may I add!) To make matters worse, someones decided to jump off a bridge in front of an oncoming train near my local station so the trains are up the swanny. Here's hoping that they'll be fine for tomorrow! Furthermore, my phone has decided to not let me send or receive anything. All of this has led me to crawl back into bed and refuse to comply with the rest of the day.

Obviously, I've not just come here to rant! I thought in the place of this week's LFDF, I could showcase a little project I've been journaling for a while now. If you know me well enough you'll know I bloody love a good list. In fact, I'd go as far as saying writing things in list form is one of my favourite past times. Sad Act! Therefore, I thought I'd share my paper listography with you. If you haven't been living under a rock all your life, you'll know of the awesome listography site and books where you can share favourite things/memories and aspirations through list form. A while back, I decided to create one of my own but in journal form. I list about whatever takes my fancy - from places I hope to visit to wishes I hold; from things I've learnt to things that are currently inspiring me. You may have also seen something similar over at hula seventy. She's a lady that loves to list just as much as I do. Let me know if this is a feature that you'd like to see again!

I thought I'd start of with 'If I had a £ for every time I....'

#1: read a facebook status that made me want to punch the person in the face I hope I'm not the only one that suffers from faceyb rage! Some idiots really are unbearable. I feel a cull coming on.

#2: had to listen to the 'my..haven't you grown' speech at family gatherings Yes, I have fecking grown. The last time you saw me I was 7 years old you nutjob.

#3: wished that Hogwarts was real Oh come on, don't try and pretend you haven't thought about it extensively too?!

#4: swore like a trooper It's not big, it's not clever but I've got a mouth like a sewer and I pepper every other sentence with a naughty word. Sue me!

#5: spoke in an old lady voice when conversing with the team Do you and your best friends have your own language/own way of speaking? 'Cause for some reason my best friends and I can't NOT talk to one another in old lady voices :/ We don't even realise most the time. Worrying!

#6: put some embarassing music on full blast and danced in the mirror when everyone went out Don't judge, okay?! I'm a born self-entertainer.

There you have it. I have a billion more lists journalled/in my head if anyone wanted to see anything like this again! In the meantime, I'm gunna get myself sorted for the SW meetup which is...Oh, TOMORROW! See you Friday for non-sensical fun (:

things i like about summer

Hello happy campers. I'm currently just chilling out at Luke's enjoying his company, sipping down delightful Tomato and Basil soup and thinking ahead to all the things we have planned. I'm now back on a three month stint of steroids so I should be ship shape in no time. Contrary to popular belief, steroids don't really turn me into a beefcake, so if you had visions of me with a beard and bulging bicep combo I'm sorry to disappoint. I'm rather looking forward to this evening as I'm going for dinner with my Grandma - my other Grandma this time...I just seem to be a complete Granny magnet at the moment! It should be really lovely. Although, I'm having one of those indecisive days so I hope it's not another sit-and-read-the-menu-a-billion-times-and-still-be-annoyed-at-what-you've-picked evenings! What are you up to this weekend? Anything interesting?

I've been re-blogging a lot of summery pics lately over at my Tumblr. It's been getting me super excited for my first taste of Greece in 7 weeks and it's also been putting a huge grin on my face. Everything just seems a whole lot more inspiring in the summer months. Am I right? I felt inspired by the gorgeous Michelle to create a little post over here to discuss the summer months and what they have on offer to me. Go and read her post - it was lovely! I've included a few little summery snaps because I thought they would help to set the scene! As I'm at Luke's I had to rely on Facebook for summery photos - hence some of the most painfully awful photos in the world. Ah well, summer is about embarrassment too! I've decided to tell my story/loves of Summer through a few of the different senses because I believe summer welcomes a whole load of goodness for them all. Here's what I hope this year's sensory summer involves for me:

the sights & sounds;
tranquil bays / contented seas against my skin / lemon trees / harry potter on the big screen / floral fields / sun kissed tans / Best Coast / Luke buried in the sand / she & him / floral window displays / perfect fluffy clouds / countless people lazing around guilt-free / happy little songs on the radio / greek madness / beautiful men in budgie smugglers (what?!) / balcony views / the sounds of bob marley / beach bodies / freckled noses / bicycle tyres on gravel pathways / old school hip hop

the smells & tastes;
ice cold lemonade & lime / bbq'd meats / flowers in bloom / ice cream van delights / fresh sun cream / sweet fresh fruit cocktails / smoked salmon suppers / mish mash pasta dishes / crunchy corn on the cobs / chilled Purple Rain pitchers during sunset / no fuss seafood / a cheeky peach schnapps at lunchtime / perfume / skewered chicken & pepper kebabs / freshly cut grass

the loves;
canary yellow / polka dot bikinis / mint coloured nails / corals / bracelet adorned wrists / big sunglasses collections / a book a day by the sea / sand between my tootsies / the warm summer breeze through the car window / bold colours / bare feet / birthday celebrations / living in my glads / going strapless / wavy beach hair / gluttonous picnics
