h is for happy {w48}: things that make me happy

I apologise if you've all been subjected to my angry/disappointed tweets this evening. I was just miserably assessing my finances and feeling a little let down by a certain someone for their lack of support throughout my life. I've since come to realise that it's not worth it to let such people drag me down. I've also learnt that it's not wise to attack packs of biscuits to subside the angry/upset thoughts. Then again, I bloody love a good chocolate digestive or ten! Anyway, onto my day! I've spent the day crawling around local country pubs with the family; it was certainly good for the soul. The first pub we went to was actually a converted country house that served the nicest homemade food and had a wonderfully cosy atmosphere.

It's only a couple of weeks until I move and I've already gone through a range of emotions. Oh yes guys, the weepies have taken place! I still can't believe that within a fortnight I'll no longer be living in my home county of the last 19 years of my life :/ You know what they say, you can take the girl out of Somerset but you can't take Somerset out of the girl! I'll be showcasing my cider drinking antics to my new home county pretty soon, I'm sure! I'm off shopping tomorrow so I'm hoping to pick up some underwear bargains and a dress to wear to Luke's brother's wedding. Why do I always leave dress shopping til the last minute?! I'm gunna go grab another cuppa and watch tv into the night. Have a good week!

P.S There's still items in my blog sale. Looks like I'm gunna need as much £ as possible ;)

h is for happy {w47}: things that make me happy

I'm a terrible blogger, I know. On the other hand, I'm winning at life at the moment! Winning means getting tiddly, smashing up your 'good' knee and waking up hurting in places you never knew you could hurt, right!? I attended my first hen night over the weekend and was amazed at what goes on during such events. If I ever get married, I just want a quiet night in with a bottle of vodka and a handshake for bagging a man that willingly wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

I had a lovely week last week full of quality sibling time, film nights and noodle dishes. I've come back down to reality recently and realised just how many weeks it is until I'm moving out! I'm not overly upset yet but I know this time in a couple of weeks I'll be caressing the bath and reminiscing about all the good times we've had together. Ah, all those cosy winter nights immersed underneath it's bubbly goodness. I'm hoping to change things around with the blog soon so keep your beady eyes peeled. Until then, here's a few more things that make me happy:

h is for happy {w46}: things that make me happy

Writing this post was just what I needed after a productive morning of being angry at things. It really annoys me when people are careless so I've been scowling at the staff of my local bank for messing up my new account. I'm feeling a little more at peace now! For those of you that are interested, Lyzi and I are already organising the next blogger meet up and it's scheduled for December. If we can get it all organised quickly we'll have a killer venue and the perfect party night for us and our blogger friends to let our hair down and flaunt our Christmas party dresses. Does that take your fancy?! We'll be looking into cheap hotels and transport etc in hope that some of you further north can come and be a part of it. It promises to be awesome! Would people be able to make a weekday if they booked the time off now? We are frantically checking dates.

In other news, I'm also going to be getting a blog sale going this week because the thought of living off a pound for another month actually makes me want to cry. There'll be some nice affordable stuff for you all to take a peek at. I've got to dash back to Luke's now for more film marathons but I hope you all have a lovely rest of the day! Do you agree with my picks?

h is for happy {w45}: things that make me happy

Vivatramp is now a self-proclaimed 'lifestyle blog with a smile' and what a better way to illustrate that fact than with another of my posts on how to be happy! Readers often tell me that they swoop by little V every Monday for their weekly dose of happiness and that's extremely humbling. It's amazing to know that this list helps others as well as myself. For thirty minutes or so a week I can let my mind wander and think of the nicer, and more often than not, simpler things in life and that's a habit that I never want to tire of. I'd love to find out what makes my readers happy so if you've got a little list please pop it in the comments box!

In other news, Luke is back from his brother's stag do today; it'll be interesting to see whether he comes back in one piece or not! (edit - he has!) I'm off to go and prance about in a Breton stripe and sort out university dribble. Why not look through the 'H is for Happy' series here

h is for happy week 45: things that make me happy

August 1st?! I'm not appreciating how time seems to be slipping through my fingers of late! I'm definitely going to write up a master plan later today of things I wish to get done so that I don't find myself continually wondering where the time has gone! I didn't post yesterday as I was horrendously tired and slightly hungover. I woke up smelling like vodka, shame and the 3am portion of chips. Classy. I'm really horrendously inspired at the moment. I just want to take my life in a new direction and I'm trying to work out how. Anyway, enough of my shit! Here's a selection of even more things that make me happy.

h is for happy week 44: things that make me happy

It's amazing when you think about just how many things in this world that can put a smile on your face and amend terrible days/broken hearts. I've listed 215 things so far and I'm far from struggling for ideas. I can't preach enough just how heartwarming it is to write a list like this; I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! My head is full of little improvements I wish to make with regards to myself and my future. I'm definitely going to spend this week journalling each of these thoughts and drawing up plans! Does anyone else do any life plans like that? Maybe I'm just a tad odd :/ Quick reminder: If you're interested in the South West Blogger Meet please could you email me if you haven't already done so: rebeccaalicestevenson@googlemail.com

we're all going on a summer holiday: h is for happy summer edition

As you read this, I'll just about be getting off the plane to be welcomed by a warm breeze and sun filled sky on an island far from here. I'll be touching down in Paleokastritsa, Corfu for a week of relaxation, trance-like book reading and sun drenched fun. Sorry, didn't mean to rub it in! Whilst I was crazy excited for this holiday, I realised I couldn't leave Little V alone so I searched for some reliable blogsitters to keep her company. Thankfully, I found some of the best in the biz so prepare to sit back and relax as Viva welcomes a load of friendly faces this coming week. In dedication to my holiday, all this weeks posts are going to be surrounding various topics regarding jet setting so sit back, relax and put your sun cream on because it's gunna be a lot of fun! The week begins as it usually does with a dose of happiness, here, some of my favourite ladies discuss the 5 things they love about summer holidays. I even let the lovely Ayden explain her choices. Enjoy! Who do you agree with the most? What things do you love about summer holidays?

Ayden explains:
1) I am such a sucker in the fact that I LOVE the time chilling at the airport before going on holiday. Getting a Starbucks, a severely overpriced magazine and share size bag of crisps from WHSmiths never fails to make me smile. I love going through security, boarding the plane, inspecting what's in the pocket in front of me (even though its the same every bloody time) kicking my shoes off (sorry neighbours, my feet certainly stink) watching a movie or listening to my ipod, and turning my phone off for the flight. All these things just scream IT'S FINALLY HOLIDAY TIME, and all my troubles melt away as I know I am going to be disappearing away from the busy hustles and bustles of life for a short period of time.

2) Pretty self explanatory, but I only learned to swim 'properly' on this holiday pictured (Tunisia 2008) and so had never really ever made the most of pool time up until then. Lying by the pool is awesome, but every so often when it gets too hot, jumping in is the best feeling ever! Now that I can properly swim and tread water comfortably, I don't need to linger by the sides in the shallow end. A high school musical style jump right in there (without the fear of drowning) is definitely much more fun.

3) I'd say I'm more a beach girl rather than a pool lover. In this holiday pictured (Algarve 2009) myself and my boyfriend David had such a laugh down at the beach every day. Surfing, beach volleyball, and burying David in the sand are my top three things to do at the beach (he might beg to differ with that last one) We are going to be spending a lot of time at the beach on our holiday in Fuerteventura this month, and surfing in the (almost) warm water is going to be so good in comparison to Scotland's ice cold waves.

4) Last summer David and I went inter-railing around Europe for a month, and as well as seeing lots of big cities we also got to see quite a few gems just off the beaten track. This is one of my most favourite pictures from that trip, when we went swimming in Lake Bled, Slovenia. It was so quiet and calm, and really the most beautiful place I have ever been to.

5) I always feel a bit down when I come back from a holiday (who doesn't?) and I think it's mainly withdrawal symptoms from not getting to spend as much time with the person you were with anymore. I don't live anywhere near my home town these days, so getting to spend more than a few days at once with my family or closest friends is a real luxury. On the other hand, the month long trip I did with David last summer was the longest time we'd spent together as a couple. We live together now, and have been going out for nearly 3 years but at the time seeing each other every single day for 30 days straight was something we had never done before. The travelling was tiring, and stressful at times. It did test us as a couple, but also made us closer than we had ever been before. David took the above picture on one of our last few days of the whole trip when we were in Paris. I was a grumpy sod that day, and to wake up from a nap and see this picture on the camera made me feel like a very lucky girl indeed :)

Thanks for reading. What do you love most about holidays? I'll be back on Wednesday with some fellow bloggers' ultimate summer playlists!

h is for happy week 43: things that make me happy

Hello ladies and gents, welcome to the 43rd (really?!) installment of my 'H is for Happy' series. I've been an extremely lucky birthday girl and currently have a billion reasons to be happy! I'll blog about all that on Wednesday but if you can't wait to have it confirmed...the baboons reached my expectations within 10 seconds of intense viewing. I had such a lovely day and threw as many birthday diva strops as I could! I ordered the wrong takeaway dish and literally reacted like I was about to punch a wall. Alas, today is just another day so I am back to my normal idiotic behaviour. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Did anyone else notice that yesterday's scheduled post went up completely unfinished? Woopsie! Today has been a complete scorcher! I ran my errands up town looking like a complete hot mess and then retired to the comfort of my leather sofa which incidentally I became stuck to. Sexy ;) This time next week I'll be sunning myself on a Greek island wandering why I over packed and why I'm not living out my days like it's one big holiday everyday! I've been compiling all my guest holiday posts today so it's safe to say I'm beyond excited. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and come back with a big update post on Wednesday! P.S I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday. Should I go for a blondey honey/LA coloured version of some sort of long bob or stick with THIS or just have long hair in either colour?! HELP ME!
