Mom Weekend Followed By A Surprise Party

My mom was in town this weekend. It was a very short trip as she arrived Thursday at 11 o'clock at night and left sunday afternoon.  But regardless, it was really good to see her. Friday night we went to Pizzeria with Mark, Eric, my step-pops, and of course, Marlowe. Afterwards my mom stayed at my house to babysit so Eric and I could finally go out for a bit, we haven't been out since the last time my mom was in town. Well, we had a decent time and it was nice finally being a smoke free venue, but we had a slight dilemma: Marlowe would not take the bottle. She HATES it. She cried and cried and my mom texted me saying Marlowe wouldn't eat and I needed to come home. What a bummer. I've been pumping a little bit at a time trying to give her a little bit of bottle this week, but she just cries every time. I don't blame her, boobs rule, but still, I'm hoping she gets the hang of it soon.

Saturday my mom came by to cook us breakfast. Afterwards Eric and I went to Home Depot to pick up some things and I tried to help him pick out paint colors.... which is interesting considering he's colored blind... well half color blind, he can't see blues and greens. (I have green eyes. Waah). It was a pretty laid back day and night. We ended up staying at my house, making ice cream, drinking cocoa, and doing a puzzle.

Sunday was Grandma brunch. Marlowe wore a cute little outfit and we headed to brunch to meet up with my mom, Eric's mom, and my brother. Afterwards I made mac and cheese for a potluck surprise party. Michelle was not surprised. It was a pretty good weekend. Pretty low key, but very entertaining.

The surprise party was at Tina's house. Her house was great. It was super cute and I wanted to live in it. She had two kitties, one of them loved jumping up onto my lap while Marlowe was breast-feeding. I laughed so much with the little kitty. Marlowe made a ton of friends. I've never been a baby person so it always surprises me how many people love babies. She was a bit fussy and cried a bit, but she eventually passed out on my lap :)

This week Marlowe received the most amazing outfit ever from Argentina. My step sister is from Argentina, her mom still lives there and got Marlowe and Adeline (Carolina baby) little knit outfits Carolinas. Yes, its true, the best babies clothes come from other countries. I've never seen Marlowe in a cuter outfit. She's wearing it right now. I want one to wear too.

Seriously... how adorable is this? I'll answer it for you: VERY adorable. The hat was made by Sara and I made the carrot rattle. And a matching sweater that came with it. 

Also today: I found Marlowe trying to roll over! She never actually made it over, she found hand half way there and got sidetracked. It's going to happen sooo soon.

I seriously love this baby.

Atlanta soooo soon! I can't wait. I just need to pack and re-pack and pack again!
