Hello sweets, I apologise for being a bit non-existent this week. My new tablets have lowered my white blood cell count considerably meaning that I've managed to contract an eye infection and a horrific chest infection. I've had to have an urgent blood test because they're worried that my blood count has fallen too low and apparently my kidneys are playing up or something. I'm no doctor, that's for sure! I just wanna get better - it has been such a crummy week! I still turned up to my job interview though - albeit looking like the living dead. I had to do an outfit task in which my brief was to find an outfit for a 25 year old woman going for a meal with friends and then for some drinks. I opted for a printed pussybow blouse, some leggings, plum shoe boots and a quirky headband. The interviewee was mega excited when I said 'pussybow blouse' - apparently most people just call it a 'tie top'. Pffft...simpletons eh?! I'm hearing back from her this weekend as to whether I was lucky so fingers crossed! Hope you lot have a lovely weekend (:
001; topshop cutout side ruched dress
I saw this dress on the Topshop website and thought it looked really beautiful. Everyone has 'their' colours and red is certainly one of mine. However, if red isn't your colour they also offer it in just plain black and teal which look just as nice. This would be perfect for a Christmas party or a meal out to celebrate with someone special. When I look closer up I'm not sure how much I like the detailling on the bust but as a piece it's quite elegant. I've never worn anything with a cut out detail before but it's usually quite flattering - unless you have some obscene roll issue! It'd look great with some cool beehive-esque updo and a killer pair of heels. What do you guys think about this dress? Have you bought a party dress this season?002; just a boy by angus and julia stone
This song is one of those that would fit perfectly in anyone's autumnal playlist. I just adore the delicate vocals in this song teamed with what I like to call a 'warm' guitar backing. I'm getting quite into Angus and Julia Stone at the moment and would recommend them to anyone that likes folky/accousticcy chilled out stuff. They're a brother and sister combo from Down Under. My favourite part of the song is quite possibly the little harmonica solo. I always seem to be a sucker for a good harmonica solo. I can't explain to you how excited I am about them right now. You should totally go check them out now on youtube and make sure you listen to And The Boys, Paper Aeroplane and Mango Tree.
I've been a fan of Me and Zena ever since my 'lets-sit-on-the-internet-and-avoid-going-to-my-lessons' A level days and it's safe to say this relatively new love bites necklace only instils this love further. I'm also in love with the love bites ring! They'd both certainly toughen up any outfit and are perfect for this weekends festivities. Although, I've never really realised why some people make such a big deal of Halloween?! :/ I just hope these beauties don't end up becoming the twi-hard fans new favourite things as I believe they're far too pretty for that! Both the necklace and the ring are available in either silver or gold allowing you to pick your preference. I'm more of a gold girl myself it has to be said. Be sure to check out their site as there are plenty of other goodies to check out such as this gorgey UFO Necklace.
004; american flag print sweat by tee and cake
Now that the winter air has well and truly set in it's about time to browse for some statement cosy pieces to keep us all warm through the coming months. I'm one for cuddling up at night in an oversized jumper with a film/book or my laptop and when I saw this jumper I thought it looked ideal for just that. I think it's on the right side of quirky and would look great styled with some roughed up military style boots. Tee and Cake pieces are also stocked at Topshop so you can find it nice and easy. Whilst you're there go check out their RUN DMC jumper. Have you bought your capsule winter wardrobe yet? What's in it?005; chuck
This show is another of those that the beau and I binge on whenever we are together. I'm not as into it as I am with say Dexter or Californication but it's a nice show to watch nonetheless. The show basically follows a guy named Chuck *duh* who has had the CIA's top secret information accidentally stored into his brain leading him to be their most powerful weapon and in a position of great danger. I'm crap at explaining things so it's best to wikipedia. Chuck is a loveable guy because he's just your average nerd and you find yourself rooting for him when he's dragged through scary situations. I'd say check it out if you have no other shows lined up (: Are any of you guys already Chuck fans?*There you have it guys! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and Halloween! I'll try and post more next week if I'm better (:
