Bee Went Camping

Hello everyone!

Long time, no post! At the tail end of last week, Luke and I, along with his two brothers and sister in law, headed down to Cornwall to get away from it all. Copious amounts of BBQ food was consumed and a billion layers were worn to combat the freezing cold British nights (read: I wore a top, two tees, a long sleeved top, 2 thick jumpers, tights, jeans, 3 pairs of pj bottoms, two pairs of socks, slippers and a snood whilst cowering under three layers of bedding and my coat!) Despite the painful lows of the weather, camping was still awesome! Although, I'm pretty happy to be back in the comfort of my own bed. I've still not got the internet where I'm living at the moment so I'm completely out of touch with the online world! It's a weird feeling but I think I might pop to Luke's tomorrow and steal his internet so that I can catch up with all the goings on! I'll be back soon with some more of my camping photographs (I'm horrendously running out of time right now!!) <3

look book: sugar coated

These J.Brand jeans are so much fun! They're made out of a coated denim so it gives them a leather-like appearance. It's a nice alternative to everyday jeans and I love the teal color. It's so unlike anything I have, which makes me like them even more!

The Thanksgiving break was so much fun! Matthew and I went down to see his family, ate a delicious Thanksgiving feast, had a "gobble off"- whoever could make the best gobble, watched the Masterpiece Theatre's miniseries of Emma {for the third time this year..oh I love it so!}, and cooked some of my favorite recipes for Matthew's mom on Friday. Back in LA my mom and I caught up on Vampire Diaries, and we celebrated my Dad's birthday last night at Mozza in LA. Happy Birthday Daddy!! I love you so much!!

Have a great Monday everyone!

3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

Well it wouldn't be Halloween if we didn't have our annual pumpkin carving contest. This Halloween seemed like such a blur. I had to cancel our Halloween party because of our stupid mold situation {it's spreading, it's gross, and the walls are going to come down..literally!}. I didn't even dress up, which is really sad for someone who loves this holiday. But at least, at least, we had our annual contest! It made me feel like we were able to celebrate a little bit!

Lit up, at night. My Dad's is the bottom left. Can you guess what his is? It rhymes with schmirate!

Do you guys have a favorite? I'm thinking it was Matthew's year to win for sure!

How was your Halloween? Did you dress up? Trick or treat? Carve pumpkins? Throw a Halloween party?
I need to live vicariously through you guys, ok? Next year will be better, I swear!

better late than never: bee's travel journal

I was meant to dedicate a post to this after I came back off holiday all the way back in July. (You can view some of my holiday photos whilst weeping into your hot beverage here). However, I'm an incompetent fool and completely forgot that I promised you an insight into my travel journal that I actually fell in love with. I first blogged about the 'Bon Voyage' travel journal here and, luckily, Luke took the hint and bought me it for my birthday ;) If you'd like one for yourself, you can buy it right here. There's still tons of room left in the journal so I'll be dragging it around the world with me for a few years to come. Have any of you guys ever kept a diary like this (albeit with better illustrations)? Apologies for the extremely dodging lighting/blurring issues on some of these images. I only had the scanner for a very short time because Luke has bought himself the new Batman game so I couldn't re-do them! Boo. Click on the images to view them in better quality.

(stunning illustration, i'm sure you'll agree)

There you have it! My scribbly little travel journal. I'd just like to point out that this is in no way sponsored. Unfortunately, I've yet to reach the stage in life where people send me journals just for spouting a lot of shit on the internet. A girl can dream! I'm off to immerse myself in creative writing work; it seems to be the only thing I ever do! Luckily, I've got a film and snacks night to make the situation a little easier. Hope you're all well!

bee in paleokastritsa, corfu: my holiday photos

Wow, it feels strange to be typing up blog posts again! Hello ladies and gents. I'd be lying if I said that it was 'good to be back'. If I'm perfectly honest with you, I just want to close my eyes and magically be transported back to the poolside where I could read my book in peace and tan to my heart's content. Alas, my holiday has come to an end and I'm freezing my tits off back in good ol' Blighty whilst trying to deal with all the delightful things reality likes to throw at you to remind you that no one can just sail through life without a little wave hurling them in a different direction. Paleokastritsa was beautifully serene which in turn created a safe haven for me to just forget about my own identity for a while. There was no sense of urgency or schedule and I love having that flexibility in my life. Luke and I have decided we'd like to live out our days on a yacht - now we just need to become millionaires in order to feed this desire. Oh, such is life! Here's a billion few photos of our trip. I haven't got all of them together yet so you may see more in the future! P.S I'd just like to say a big thank you to all my guest bloggers! If you missed any of my posts whilst I was away please feel free to scour back through them - they featured some cracking ladies and gents!

every bar has a pool! this was one of the stunning views | ate a whole load of bread and olive oil! | myself | gorgeous flowers | beautiful buildings in the old town | souvlaki | chilling on the beach | lazing on the beach | trance-like reading | BBQ'd chicken | poolside | beautiful Vespa | Luke being hardcore | learning traditional Greek dancing (in my seashell dress) | Sofrito - yum! |

PPS; I documented my holiday regimentally through my gorgeous travel journal. I was wandering if people would be interested in seeing a few pages put up here? They're nothing special - my childlike attempts at drawing and to the point labelling isn't exactly the work of a literary genius but it's charming nonetheless! Luke and I are off to the cinema tonight to watch Deathly Hallows Part Two. I've psyched myself up whilst laying on the beach reading the books so I think I'm mentally prepared to cry my eyes out.
